After weeks of silence, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a surprise Express Entry Draw 359 for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) late on August 7, issuing 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required was 534, the highest for a CEC draw since May 2025.

Key Highlights of the Latest Express Entry Draw 359

  • Date of Draw: August 07, 2025
  • Draw Type: Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Number of ITAs Issued: 1,000
  • Minimum CRS Score: 534
  • Tie-Breaker Rule: August 3, 2025, at 06:22:02 UTC

This latest Express Entry draw mirrors a similar one in May ( Express entry draw #347 ), where only 500 ITAs were issued, followed by a month-long gap with no CEC draws. If that pattern repeats, candidates may once again face a waiting game.

CEC draws are part of Canada’s broader strategy to prioritize immigration candidates who have already integrated into the Canadian labour market and society. Applicants eligible under this category typically have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada and meet other language and admissibility criteria.
