IRCC issues 792 ITAs in latest Express Entry PNP draw with a minimum CRS score of 761

Canada issued 792 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in a express entry draw 451 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) round on October 26, 2026, a draw that effectively exhausted the eligible candidate pool at this CRS tier. More significantly, IRCC has confirmed that Express Entry draws will pause starting November 3, 2026, to implement system changes, with rounds expected to resume roughly two weeks later.

Express Entry Draw 451 Highlights

  • Date and time: October 26, 2026, at 10:38:23 UTC
  • Category: Provincial Nominee Program
  • CRS cut-off: 761
  • Invitations issued: 792
  • Rank needed: 792 or above
  • Tie-breaking rule: Candidates who submitted their Express Entry profile before 18:00:26 UTC on April 3, 2026, were prioritised where scores were tied

A Pool Nearly Emptied afterExpress Entry Draw 451, Again

As of October 25, there were only 787 candidates in the Express Entry pool with CRS scores above 600. With 792 invitations issued the next day, IRCC captured essentially every eligible nominated candidate available at that level. This is the second time in as many PNP rounds that a draw has landed almost exactly at the size of the available pool, following a similar pattern on October 13, when 752 invitations were issued against a pool of 749 candidates above 600 points.

Cut-Off Eases From the Previous Round

At 761, this round’s threshold came in 11 points lower than the October 13 draw, which had climbed to 772, the highest PNP cut-off since May. The modest pullback is consistent with a pool that was largely cleared out two weeks earlier and has only partially replenished since.

The Bigger News: A Scheduled Pause

Perhaps more consequential than the draw numbers themselves is IRCC’s confirmation that Express Entry rounds will pause starting November 3, 2026, to allow time for system changes to be implemented. The department has indicated draws will resume approximately two weeks later, which would place the next expected round around mid-November. This is a notable departure from the near-weekly draw cadence Express Entry has maintained for most of 2026, and candidates currently in the pool should factor this gap into their planning.

Why This Pause Matters for Candidates

A confirmed pause changes the calculus for anyone close to a CRS threshold. Candidates sitting just below recent cut-offs, whether in CEC, PNP, or category-based streams, will have roughly two extra weeks for their scores to improve, or for the pool to shift, before the next round. At the same time, a longer gap between draws has historically pushed cut-offs higher once rounds resume, as seen with French-language proficiency’s 53-point jump after an eight-week gap earlier this year.

What to Watch When Draws Resume

With 2026 already the largest year on record for Express Entry invitations, how IRCC calibrates its first rounds after this pause, particularly whether cut-offs spike the way they did following other extended gaps this year, will be an important signal for the remainder of Q4. Candidates should ensure their profiles remain complete and accurate through the pause, since tie-breaking rules will still apply once draws resume.
