Business and Skilled Migration Queensland has informed that currently they are working with stakeholders for finalising the programs for the year 2019-2020. The formal announcement will be made only after deciding the opening date of BSMQ. In the meantime, the applicants can contact BSMQ authorities for any information regarding the opening.
However, the applicants have been advised not to file an application before the Business and Skilled Migration Queensland programs open officially. Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ)

Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) is the state nominating agency for the Government of Queensland that aims to offer an opportunity for skilled immigrants to join its community and contribute towards the growth of its economy. It is also a business division of the Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ). In collaboration with the Home Affairs Department, BSMQ nominates eligible candidates with work experience in one of the occupations featured in the QSOL for both provisional and PR visas, which allow them to reside and work in Queensland.
The benefits of BSMQ are:

  • Priority processing of Australia Visa by the Home Affairs Department
  • Extra 5 points towards the DHA points test for a Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 Permanent Visa
  • Extra 10 points towards the DHA points test for a Skilled Regional Subclass 489 Provisional Visa
  • Right to work equal to an Australian citizen. The candidate will be an independent immigrant and can work for any employer in Queensland.

The state immigration plans of Australia allow individual states to sponsor General Skilled Immigration applicants in order to fill the skill shortages in their respective labour markets. The state immigration plans usually specify the occupations that can be nominated by the state government as well as the number of visas that will be offered under the program.
