The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released the annual report on Express Entry for the year 2021 the other day. As per the report, a total of 155810 immigrants obtained permanent residence through Express Entry in 2021. The report further says that among those candidates who had submitted their Express Entry profiles from outside Canada, the highest number of invitations was received by those who applied from India.Canada pnp finderThe 155810 immigrants including principal applicants and dependents who obtained permanent residence in 2021 were chosen through the 114431 invitations issued through Express Entry.

High number of Canada PR visa issued despite no all-program draws

This high number of permanent resident status awarded shows that the number of persons who were issued permanent residence status remained high despite the IRCC paused all-program draws on September 20, 2021. The IRCC has not invited any Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) candidates in 2021. Though Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates were invited, the draws targeting them were also paused in September 2021. Only Provincial Nominee Program-specific draws took place regularly in 2021.

443000 Express Entry profile submissions

In 2021, the IRCC received a total of 443000 Express Entry profile submissions. It shows a 23% increase compared to 2020. Among these profiles, 74% found to be eligible for at least one of the economic immigration programs managed under Express Entry. Among the profiles, 77% of women applicants were found to be eligible as compared to 71% men.

Indians received highest number of ITAs

Among the candidates who had submitted their Express Entry profiles from outside Canada, the most number of invitations were received by those who had submitted their profiles from India, 3826 in total. Nigerians came second, with 1432 invitations.

CRS score of the selected candidates

The Express Entry candidates are assessed on the basis of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. 31% of the eligible candidates had CRS score ranging between 351 and 400. 27% had CRS score ranging between 401-450 while 21% of the eligible candidates had CRS score ranging between 451 and 500.

For PNP candidates, CRS cut-off score ranged between 682 and 813. At the same time, the CRS score of the eligible candidates under the CEC program was between 72 and 462.

In-demand occupations for Express Entry

The highest number of Express Entry invitations was issued to Food Service Supervisors in 2021. The other occupations that had the highest number of ITAs issued were Administrative Assistants, Retail Sales Supervisors, Software Engineers and Designers and Cooks.
