Job vacancies in healthcare and accommodation and food services sectors are high in Canada, showed the latest job vacancies report published by Statistics Canada. The report says that Canada’s accommodation and food services sector had the highest rate of employers looking for workers in the month of May. Similarly, health sector had the highest number of open positions during the month.

In the month of May, there were an estimated 671100 job vacancies in Canada. Health sector had the highest number of job openings in Canada for the seventh consecutive month. The total number of job vacancies in the health sector during the month of May was 107300. It means nearly one sixth of all the open positions were in the health sector. The second highest number of vacancies was in accommodation and food services sector, at around 78000. Third highest number of job vacancies was with the retail trade sector at 73800.At the same time, the latest Labour Force Survey found that employment in accommodation and food services grew around 12 percent from May to June, as restrictions were relaxed.
