In the latest Express Entry draw held on May 23rd, the Government of Canada issued 3500 invitations to apply, with the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score required being 440. In the previous two draws held on April 25 and May 9 respectively, the CRS cut-off score was 441.
Tie-break rule was applied in this draw too, the date and time being December 30, 2017, at 06:39:40 UTC. It means all the candidates who scored 440 and above in CRS score and those who submitted their profiles before this time received Invitations to Apply (ITAs)..
This is the fourth consecutive Express Entry draw to issue 3500 ITAs. Earlier, 3500 ITAs were issued on April 11, April 25 and May 23 draws. The CRS cut-off score has also come down by six points, from 446 to 440, corresponding to Express Entry draws held from the start of this year to the latest draw. With the latest draw, the total number of ITAs issued in 2018 has touched 31,5000.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has set higher admission targets for 2018 and 2019, compared to 2017. So it is expected that draw sizes will increase and draws will become more frequent in the months to come.
