Express Entry: IRCC Invites Another 700 Profiles For Canada PR In The Latest All-Program Draws

Canada PR

Highlights

1. IRCC conducted the 253rd Express Entry draw on July 04.

2. Eligible foreign nationals in the federal pool must have been ranked 700 or above to get invited under this round of invitations.

3. The lowest-rank candidate had a CRS score of 511 in this draw.

4. The category-based selection draws for healthcare and STEM professionals are scheduled to take place on July 05.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a surprise all-program Express Entry draw yesterday. The July 04 draw issued 700 invitations to apply (ITA) under all Express Entry programs for Canadian permanent residence (PR).

ITAs to the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Provincial Nominee Program may have been issued through this round of invitations.

IRCC invited eligible profiles with minimum qualifying scores based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). It increased by 25 points to 511 from the previous all-program draw

Canada considered all the newly registered profiles in the federal pool, keeping the tie-breaker cut-off date close to July 01, 2023. The tie-break rule is beneficial in cases where two or more candidates end up with the same CRS score.

Who Can Apply for Express Entry?

Any eligible foreign national seeking direct permanent residence without prior work experience or job offer in Canada may register their profile in the federal pool.

These profiles are evaluated on a total of 1200 points, mainly based on the human capital criteria like

1. Age

2. Education

3. Work experience outside Canada

4. Language proficiency in English/French

5. Spouse adaptability

6. Canadian study experience, etc.

Are some of the factors for evaluation. A successful provincial nomination can boost the Express Entry CRS score by 600 points.

Reviewing the First Half of Express Entry Draws in 2023

July 04 round of invitations marks the 11th all-program Express Entry of 2023 and the 17th overall.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, IRCC established an unofficial pattern of holding Express Entry draws every two weeks on Wednesdays. This has not always been the case in 2023.

However, IRCC has issued 58,849 ITAs until June 29 which is significantly higher than the latter half of 2022. Further, most other draws over the past six months have had a minimum CRS cut-off score between 485 and 490.

With the 2023-2025 annual targets for Express Entry landings (principal applicants, spouses, and dependents) set to cross over 100,000 each year, it is your golden time to start planning for immigration to Canada.
