In the 94th Express Entry draw held on July 11, 2018, the Government of Canada invited 3750 candidates to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was retained at 442 as in the previous draw held on Minimum CRS requirements in the Express Entry draws held this year:
June 25. This is the third consecutive Express Entry draw where 3,750 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) are being issued.
Tie-break rule was applied in this Express Entry draw too, the date and time being June 26, 2018, at 13:18:55 UTC. It means all candidates with a CRS score of 442 and above, who submitted their profiles before the said date and time, received Invitations to Apply.
The issuing of 3,750 ITAs in the latest three consecutive Express Entry draws is the continuation of a trend set by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in 2017. As per this trend, draw sizes remain the same over successive invitation rounds followed by an increase of 250 or 500 in around every two months. In 2018, draw sizes grew from 2,750 to 3000 and 3500 and now to 3750.
Including today’s draw, the IRCC has so far issued a total of 43,450 ITAs in 2018 over 14 Express Entry draws.
Canada has set a target to admit 74,900 candidates through Express Entry in 2018. The target for 2019 is to admit 81,400 candidates. So it is expected that draw sizes will continue to increase and draws will become more frequent in the months to come.
