In the 118th Express Entry draw held on May 29, 2019, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3350 Invitations to Apply(ITAs) for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold was 470. As in the previous draws, a tie-break rule was applied in the May 29 draw as well, the time stamp given being May 23, 2019 at 10:18:56 UTC. It means the candidates who had a CRS score above 470 and submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time, were prioritized in the draw.
The May 29 draw is the 11th Express Entry draw held so far this year. With this draw, the total number of ITAs issued by the IRCC in 2019 has reached 35,100. The latest draw is also the first all-program draw since May 1, after a program-specific Express Entry draw was held on May 15. Only 500 candidates eligible under the Federal Skilled Trades Program were invited in the May 15 draw.
In the year 2018, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) established a new Express Entry ITA record of 89,800 invitations issued in a single year. The total number of invitations to be issued in the years between 2019 and 2021 is about to increase further with higher admission targets set for these years through Express Entry. The minimum CRS score may also come down as the IRCC holds larger or more frequent draws during these years.
