Number of ITAs issued increases by 300 in latest Express Entry draw

In the 127th Express Entry draw held on October 2, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3900 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 464 and above.
The latest draw marked an increase of 300 ITAs issued, compared to the previous draw held on September 18. The last time IRCC issued 3900 ITAs was in the Express Entry draw held on January 23, 2019.
Tie-break rule was applied in the October 2nd draw, the time stamp given being September 20, 2019, at 15:05:04 UTC. It means those candidates with a minimum CRS score of 464, who submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time, received invitations. With the latest draw, the total number ITAs issued by the IRCC so far this year has touched 67300.
IRCC may keep the draw size large for the rest of the year, in order to surpass the single-year ITA record of 89800 invitations that it set last year.
As per the Canada Immigration Levels Plan for 2019-2021, the country is planning to welcome around 256,000 through Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Class–the three federal economic immigration programs managed under the Express Entry. Another 200,000 or so immigrants will also be admitted through the provincial nominee programs over the next three years, as per the Plan.
