In a draw that took place on April 25, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence to 3,500 Express Entry candidates. The minimum cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for the draw was 441. This is three points lower compared to the minimum score in the previous draw held on April 11, which was 444.
This is the second consecutive draw where IRCC is issuing 3,500 ITAs, the highest number of ITAs in a draw this year. With the latest draw, the total number of ITAs issued this year has reached 24,500. As per the multi-year immigration levels plan for 2018-2020, Canada government’s target for the year 2018 is to admit 74,900 immigrants through the three Express Entry economic immigration classes — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class. Larger draws like those held on April 11 and April 25, are expected to help IRCC to achieve this target. The target for the year 2019 is 81400.
In the latest draw as well, IRCC applied the tie-break rule. The date and time applied for tie-break were December 8, 2017, at 10:25:33 UTC. This means candidates with a score of 441 and above, who submitted their profile before this time, were invited.
