Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) opened the door for permanent residency to nearly 1,000 hopefuls through the Express Entry system. Today’s draw focused on the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), inviting 920 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 739.
This marks the third PNP-specific draw in just over a month, highlighting Canada’s commitment to addressing regional labor shortages and supporting provincial economies. The increased frequency of these targeted draws reflects a strategic shift by IRCC.
To be eligible for this draw, candidates required a provincial nomination in addition to their CRS score. The PNP allows provinces and territories to nominate candidates whose skills and experience align with their particular labor markets.
The minimum CRS score of 739 is higher compared to the previous PNP draw on June 19th, which saw a cut-off of 663. This fluctuation is typical in Express Entry draws, with the CRS score rising as the pool of eligible candidates shrinks.
This latest draw is part of a series of program-specific invitations implemented by IRCC in May 2023. These targeted draws aim to reduce the overall number of temporary residents in Canada by expediting the path to permanent residency for those already contributing to the economy.
For those interested in Express Entry, staying up-to-date on CRS requirements and program-specific draws is crucial. Consulting with an immigration professional like CanApprove can also be beneficial in navigating the application process.
