In the latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot draw held on May 28, a total of 63 candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to Express Entry BC- Skilled Worker, Express Entry BC International Graduate, Skills Immigration-Skilled Worker and Skills Immigration-International Graduate categories of BC PNP. The invited candidates of all immigration streams were required to have a minimum score of 90 points. The BC PNP Tech Pilot draw mainly targeted skilled workers and international graduates with skills and experience in IT occupations.

In the previous Tech Pilot draw held on May 21, a total of 234 invitations were issued across five streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program. Minimum score was 75 for Entry Level and Semi-skilled Stream workers, while direct provincial skilled workers needed to have 95 points. For EE-Skilled Workers, EE-International Graduates, SI-International graduates, the minimum score was 105.
BC PNP Tech Pilot
The BC PNP Tech Pilot was launched in 2017 with an aim to give priority to the IT workers through the existing immigration streams of British Columbia. The Pilot has now been extended into 2019. In order to be eligible, the candidate must have a full-time job offer of at least one-year duration from a British Columbia employer, besides meeting other requirements. The job offer must be for one of the 29 targeted occupations and must be valid for at least 120 days at the time of application.

If the candidates are selected for provincial nomination from British Columbia, they will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
