British Columbia Tech Pilot scheme

British Columbia has a thriving technology sector, which generates around seven percent of the province’s GDP.  The technology companies in the province are keen about employing skilled workers from across the world.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) launched the British Columbia Tech Pilot scheme in 2017. It aims to attract skilled workers and international graduates with skills needed for the technology sector of British Columbia. The Tech Pilot scheme was updated in June 2018 and extended till June 2019.
The Express Entry candidates who successfully apply for provincial nomination from British Columbia will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The applications for permanent residence from the Skills Immigration candidates who have obtained British Columbia provincial nomination will be processed outside the Express Entry system.
In order to be considered for provincial nomination from British Columbia, a person must first create an online profile with the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) of BC PNP.  After assessing the profile, BC PNP authorities will award a SIRS score based on various factors including education and work experience.
