In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program draw held on January 14, the province invited 272 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The draw invited skilled workers and international graduates under the following three immigration streams:
While 236 Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates with a minimum provincial score of 461 received invitations, the number of Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who received invites was seven and their minimum score was 722. Another 29 International Education Stream candidates also received invitations, but they had no EoI score requirements.
The number of Express Entry candidates who received invitations in the draw was 18. To be eligible to apply, the Express Entry candidates must have a valid Express Entry ID, a job seeker validation code and work experience in an occupation featured in the In-demand Occupations list of Manitoba.
All the Skilled Worker Overseas candidates who received invitations in the draw were invited directly under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the MPNP.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program immigration streams
Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba allow the province to nominate skilled workers who can support the labour market needs of the province. Those who are applying from outside Canada need to have a previous connection to the province in the form of close family member or friends living in the province, previous work or study experience in the province or an invitation received through the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of MPNP. Furthermore, the Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates must have a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer. International students who have graduated from the higher education institutions of Manitoba will receive an invitation under the International Education stream if they possess the skills that are in -demand in the province.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program: Express Entry
To receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba, the candidate must have an Express Entry profile. The candidates who are nominated by Manitoba will have 600 additional CRS score points added to their total CRS score. The Express Entry candidates who received invitations in the latest draw had a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

Manitoba is setting up a new department for promoting immigration to the province as part of its COVID-19 recovery plan.
