Ontario Express Entry

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draws held on July 21 invited 115 French-speaking Express Entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the invited candidates ranged between 461 and 467.

Ontario Express Entry French-speaking Skilled Worker Stream

The Express Entry French-speaking Skilled Worker stream under the OINP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. A candidate cannot apply under the stream directly. They need to receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the OINP, inviting them to apply for provincial nomination. In the latest draw, OINP issued NOIs to those who had created their Express Entry profiles after July 21, 2020. These candidates may submit the application for provincial nomination from Ontario within 45 days. If they receive a provincial nomination, they will have 600 additional CRS score points added to their total CRS score. This would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw. Ontario has held four FSSW stream draws so far in 2021 and invited 489 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

Eligibility Criteria for French-Speaking Skilled Workers Stream

To be eligible under the French-speaking Skilled Workers Stream, a candidate must have an active Express Entry profile. They must also meet eligibility requirements for the Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Worker Program, two of the three federal economic immigration programs managed under the Express Entry.

The required education qualification is a Canadian bachelor’s or master’s degree or a PhD. If the candidate acquired the education qualifications from outside Canada, they must submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report. Further, they must demonstrate enough settlement funds to start a new life in Ontario. The Stream also requires the candidates to have minimum language proficiency equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in French and 6 in English.

Canada Provincial Nominee Program offers great options for even those Express Entry candidates who have low CRS scores. Find your best pathway for Canada immigration with the help of the immigration experts of CanApprove. Contact us now.
