In the Ontario PNP draw held on January 13, the province invited 484 Express Entry candidates under French-speaking Skilled Worker and Skilled Trades streams to apply for a provincial nomination. The candidates were chosen from those who had submitted their Express Entry profiles between January 13, 2020 and January 13, 2021.
Ontario PNP Skilled Trades Stream
The Skilled Trades Stream of the Ontario PNP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. To be eligible under this stream, the candidates must be living in Ontario and must have at least one year of full-time work experience or equivalent part-time experience in a skilled trade, which is listed in either Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72,73 or 82 under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) of Canada. The Ontario PNP draw held on January 13 chose Skilled Trades candidates who had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 434 and 460.
Ontario PNP French-speaking Skilled Worker Stream
The French-speaking Skilled Worker Stream of Ontario PNP targets Express Entry candidates who speak English and French. To be eligible under this stream, the candidates need to meet the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class or the Federal Skilled Worker Program. The candidates must also have a minimum language score equal to seven in French and six in English. The number of FSSW who received invitations in January 13 draw was 146. Their CRS score ranged between 456 and 460.
Though a job offer is not necessary under Skilled Trades or French-speaking Skilled Worker Streams, the candidates must meet all the mandatory federal and provincial requirements specified by the OINP. Moreover, they must have an active Express Entry profile.
The invited candidates, if successfully apply for and obtain provincial nomination from Ontario, will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. The invited candidates should submit their complete profile within 45 days.
