In the second Ontario PNP draw held in a gap of just two days, the province invited French-speaking Express Entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The draw held on March 3 invited 126 candidates through the French-speaking Skilled Worker(FSSW) stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program(OINP). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the invited candidates ranged between 455 and 467. The candidates were selected from those Express Entry candidates who had submitted their Express Entry profiles between March 3, 2020, and March 3, 2021. The candidates who have received the invitation may submit their completed application for Ontario provincial nomination within 45 days.
The number of invitations issued in the previous French-speaking Skilled Worker stream draw held on January 13 was 146. With the latest draw, the total number of candidates invited through this stream in 2021 has touched 271.
French-speaking Skilled Worker stream
To be eligible under the French-speaking Skilled Worker stream, one must have language proficiency equal to Canadian Language Benchmark(CLB)7 in French and 6 in English. You must also have enough funds to settle in Ontario.
Canada Express Entry
The French-speaking Skilled Worker stream is aligned to the Express Entry system of Canada. The Express Entry system manages applications for immigration under the three economic immigration programs of Canada, which are Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Each Express Entry candidate is assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, skilled work experience etc. and awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score. The maximum score is 1200. Most of the candidates will have their CRS score ranging between 300 and 500. Those who have received provincial nomination will receive an additional 600 CRS score points. This increases their chances for obtaining an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
