Prince Edward Island (PEI) has released its Provincial Nominee Program(PNP) draw schedule for the year 2022. As per the schedule, the province will be holding 12 PNP draws. These draws will invite eligible immigration candidates under one of these categories: Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact.
Prince Edward Island publishes the PNP draw schedule at the start of every year. However, the province did not follow the schedule in 2020, as the immigration programs were affected by the pandemic. However, in 2021, PEI invited 1804 immigration candidates. Among them, 1697 were Labour Impact and Express Entry stream candidates. 157 were Business Impact stream candidates.

PEI PNP Express Entry
The Express Entry category under PEI PNP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. So the first pre-requisite to qualify under the category is having an Express Entry profile. When a person creates an Express Entry profile, he will be awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score based on various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency etc. If the candidate receives a provincial nomination, 600 additional CRS score points will be added to their total CRS score. This guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
PEI PNP Labour Impact category
Those candidates who have a valid job offer from a PEI employer may become eligible for invitation under the Labour Impact category. The category has further been divided into three streams—Skilled Worker stream, Critical Worker stream and International Graduate stream. In order to receive an invitation under Labour Impact category, a candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest.
Business Impact category
Business Impact category candidates must meet minimum provincial score requirement to be eligible.
