WHATSAPPQuebec, one of the most popular destinations for Canadian immigrants, has announced new immigration application intake rules. The new immigration application intake rules will be effective from April 1, 2018 to August 15, 2018. The rules apply to applications from economic immigration candidates such as skilled workers, investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed workers other than applications submitted under Collective Sponsorship Program.
This year, Quebec is expected to admit between 49000 and 53000 immigrants. The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI) is working towards modernizing the Quebec immigration system. These efforts aim to select those who have better prospects for integrating into the Quebec labor market.
Skilled Workers
For the Regular Skilled Worker Program, the Ministère will be receiving a maximum of 5000 applications for the Quebec Selection Certificate by August 15. But this intake period is not applicable for candidates with a valid job offer and who are temporary residents of Quebec. Those who submit applications under the Programme de l’expérience québécoise (PEQ – Québec Experience Program) can also do so anytime, without considering the intake period.
Investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed workers
It has been informed that no applications for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec Selection Ceficate) will be received under the Investors Program, the Entrepreneurs Program and the Self-Employed Workers Program during the period from April 1, 2018 to August 15, 2018.
Collective sponsorship
The Ministère will extend the suspension of intake of new sponsorship applications already in effect until June 30, 2018. It has also been informed that no collective sponsorship applications will be received on or before August 15, 2018.
