In the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) draw held on August 11, the province invited 745 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Among the total number invitations issued, 312 went to Saskatchewan Occupations In-Demand stream candidates and the minimum score required was 68. The remaining 433 invitations were issued to Saskatchewan Express Entry stream candidates and they required a minimum score of 68. The draw targeted candidates with work experience in one of the 20 in-demand occupations. The NOC codes of the targeted occupations included: 0621, 0631, 0632, 0711, 2171, 2234, 2263, 2281, 2282, 3212, 3214, 3219, 3237, 6211, 6221, 6312, 7302, 7305, 8241, 8252.
Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system
In order to receive an invitation in one of the Saskatchewan Expression of Interest draws, a candidate must first submit an EOI profile to the SINP. The eligible candidates will enter the EOI candidate pool. The selected candidates from this pool will be issued invitations in the draws that are conducted regularly. The invited candidates may submit the complete application for provincial nomination within 60 days.
Saskatchewan Occupation In Demand sub-category
In order to receive an invitation under this sub-category, a candidate must score at least 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid. The minimum language score required for candidates under this sub-category is Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4. At least one year of post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship comparable to the Canadian education system is the required level of education. Qualifications obtained from outside Canada must be subjected to Educational Credential Assessment. Minimum one year of work experience in an eligible occupation is also necessary. The candidates must also obtain professional licence if required and demonstrate settlement funds.
Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category
The candidates who have an active Express Entry profile and minimum 60 points on the SINP points assessment grid may apply under Express Entry sub-category. They must also have at least one year of work experience in a non-trades occupation or two years of work experience in a skilled trades occupation. Those who have one year of Canadian work experience in trades or non-trades occupation are also eligible. The candidates under this sub-category must also produce proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan.
