International Skilled Worker Category

This category is for foreign skilled workers who meet the eligibility criteria for Saskatchewan provincial nominee program and who wish to live and work in the province of Saskatchewan. International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand

In order to apply for Saskatchewan provincial nomination under this sub category of Saskatchewan provincial nominee program, the candidate must be a highly skilled worker with relevant work experience in an occupation that is in demand in Saskatchewan. They must also meet other Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements. A job offer is not necessary to apply under this sub category. Neither an Express Entry profile is required.

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category of Saskatchewan provincial nominee program currently operates on an Expression of Interest system.

International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry

Under this sub-category of Saskatchewan provincial nominee program, the province nominates those candidates who are already there in the federal Express Entry pool and who have skilled work experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan. This Express Entry sub-category of Saskatchewan provincial nominee program also operates under the Expression of Interest system of Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system

In order to be considered for provincial nomination under the Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories of Saskatchewan provincial nominee program, a candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest(EoI) and demonstrate his/her skills and qualifications. The profile must be submitted through the OASIS, the online application system of SINP. The profiles submitted this way will be valid for one year from the date of submission. Candidates in the EoI pool of Saskatchewan provincial nominee program will be ranked on the basis of the points assigned to them and the highest-scoring candidates will be invited to apply for provincial nomination. Such draws are conducted at least once in a month.

Saskatchewan Experience Category

Saskatchewan Experience Category for is for foreign workers with Saskatchewan PNP eligibility currently living in the province. Applications for Saskatchewan provincial nomination are accepted under the following sub-categories of Experience Category under Saskatchewan provincial nominee program:

Existing Work Permit

Candidates who are currently living in Saskatchewan and who have been working in the province for at least six months on a valid work permit can apply for Saskatchewan provincial nomination under this sub-category of Saskatchewan provincial nominee program, if they meet the Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements.

Other sub-categories

Health professionals, hospitality workers and long-haul truck drivers have exclusive sub categories under the Existing Work Permit.

The students who have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada can apply for a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan under the Students sub-category of the Saskatchewan provincial nominee program. The students must have worked in Saskatchewan for at least 24 months before applying, besides meeting other Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements. If they have graduated from an institution located in Saskatchewan, candidate needs work experience of only six months.

Entrepreneur and Farm category

This category under the Saskatchewan provincial nominee program is for those who wish to invest in Saskatchewan by establishing or acquiring or partnering in a business in the province. The candidates must be ready to actively manage the business on a day-to-day basis. This category too operates on an Expression of Interest model.

Farm Owners and Operators Sub-Category

Under this sub-category, experienced farmers ready to invest in a farming operation in Saskatchewan and move to the province permanently can apply for a provincial nomination.
