Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program or SINP is one of the fastest Canada immigration programs as compared to other provincial nomination programs. Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements are so minimal that even candidates with modest level of capabilities can apply for provincial nomination under SINP.
Saskatchewan provincial nominee program applies a point-based system to select candidates with the skills, qualifications and work experience needed to contribute to the growth of the province’s economy for provincial nomination. The Saskatchewan PNP eligibility factors include age, education, skilled experience, language abilities etc. Each candidate is awarded a score on the basis of these factors. A candidate must score at least 60 out of 100 in order to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility to apply for provincial nomination from Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan provincial nominee program has three major categories. A candidates need to qualify under any of these categories to apply for Saskatchewan provincial nomination. The Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements for each of these categories are different. The categories are:
- International Skilled Worker Category
- Saskatchewan Experience Category
- Entrepreneur and Farm Category
The International Skilled Worker category of Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program is for skilled workers who meet the Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements including education, experience, and language abilities for successfully establishing themselves in Saskatchewan. At the same time, Saskatchewan Experience Category is for candidates who have been working in the province for at least six months and meet other Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements. Entrepreneur and Farm Category is for those who meet the Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements and plan to run a business or farm in the province.
International Skilled Worker category
The SINP’s International Skilled Worker Category allows the province to nominate skilled workers who meet the Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements for permanent residence in Canada. It has three sub-categories:
- International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer
- International Skilled Worker – Occupation In-Demand
- International Skilled Worker –Express Entry
International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer
The Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements for candidates under this category are:
- Legal status if residing in Canada.
- Sufficient level of language proficiency to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirement, which means a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 across all four language competencies (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
- A permanent, full-time job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. The employer must be registered with the SINP and the occupation must be in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) Matrix as Skill type 0 or Skill Level A or B, OR in a designated trade in Saskatchewan in order to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility
- At least one year of paid work experience in the relevant occupation, acquired in the past 10 years.
- If the candidate’s occupation is regulated in Saskatchewan, he/she must have obtained the mandatory certification or licensing to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility
- A score of at least 60 out of 100 on the point evaluation framework to assess the Saskatchewan PNP eligibility.
International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand
Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements for candidates under the Occupation In-Demand category are:
- Legal status, if residing in Canada
- Language proficiency level to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirement of a minimum score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 across all four language competencies (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
- At least one year of post-secondary education or training comparable to the Canadian education system. The study program must have resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirement.
- Paid work experience of at least one year, acquired during the past 10 years. The experience must be in an occupation related to the field of education or training. It must also be a highly-skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) included in the in-demand occupations list of the province to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirement
- Mandatory certification or licensing if the profession is regulated in Saskatchewan.
- Proof of settlement funds and settlement plan
- A minimum score of 60 out of 100 on the point assessment grid that to assesses Saskatchewan PNP eligibility
International Skilled Worker-Express Entry
In order to meet the Saskatchewan PNP eligibility criteria under this subcategory, the candidate must have qualified for any one of the following three federal economic immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker
- Federal Skilled Trades
- Canadian Experience Class
Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements for the International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category are:
- Proof of legal status, if residing in Canada
- An active Express Entry profile with profile number and Job Seeker Validation Code
- Language proficiency that matches the level declared in their Express Entry profile, proven by language test results from a designated agency
- Canadian equivalent of at least one year of post-secondary education or training that has resulted in a degree, diploma, certificate, or a certificate equivalent to a trade certificate to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility requirements
- Minimum level of work experience in an occupation related to the field of education or training of the candidate. The experience must be in a highly skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) that is listed in the in-demand occupations list of Saskatchewan in order to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility.
- Proof of eligibility for Saskatchewan licensure if the candidate’s profession is regulated in Saskatchewan and requires mandatory (compulsory) certification or licensing
- If the work experience is in a skilled trade, the candidate must have obtained certificate of qualification (also known as a letter of invitation) in their skilled trade from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission in order to meet Saskatchewan PNP eligibility.
- Sufficient settlement funds and settlement plan
- Minimum score of 60 out of 100 on the SINP point assessment grid to assess Saskatchewan PNP eligibility.
