Arrima portal, the new online portal for Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), was opened for users on September 18. Now those who want to immigrate to Quebec through QSWP will have to create an Expression of Interest (EoI) profile in Arrima. By introducing Arrima portal, Quebec government aims to manage the profiles of those who have submitted the Expressions of Interest for Quebec migration better and reduce the processing time of PR applications.
While creating the profile with Arrima portal, the candidates will have to include information such as education qualification, work experience and language proficiency. Anyone above the age of 18 can apply through the system. But in order to be eligible, the candidates must obtain minimum required scores for employability and selection factors in accordance with the QSWP points grid. The eligible candidates will enter a pool from which Quebec will select those who meet certain criteria according to the labour market needs of the province. They will be invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de séléction du Québec, or CSQ). With CSQ, the candidate can apply for permanent residence in Canada.
How to create a profile in Arrima portal
The users first enter a virtual waiting room, where they will have to wait till being granted access to the portal. Once granted access, the users can start creating the profile in a 90-minute session. The profile has to be completed within 30 days. Once created, the profile will remain valid for one year. During this period, the candidates are allowed to update and revise their profile.
The eligible candidates who successfully create a profile will enter a pool of selected candidates. Each profile in the pool will receive a score based on a number of factors such as education, work experience and language proficiency. The highest scoring candidates will be invited to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ). They can submit the application within 90 days. Those who receive CSQ can apply for Canada permanent residence.
