The Masters Graduate Stream under Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) was reopened on April 5, but closed in less than one hour. The Masters Graduate Stream is one of the two immigration programs under OINP’s International Student category. It aims to help retain international graduates who studied in the province. It also does not require a job offer to apply.
The other stream under International Student Category is for PhD graduates who have completed a degree course in one of the eligible higher education institutions in Ontario.
This time, the OINP opened the Masters Graduate Stream independent of the PhD Graduate Stream. Last time, the Masters Graduate Stream was opened on January 29, 2018.OINP is planning to reopen the Masters Graduate Stream periodically in 2018, until the provincial nomination allocation of Ontario is fulfilled.
The applicants under Masters Graduate Stream are issued a base provincial nomination certificate using which they can apply for permanent residence with the federal government. But the base stream is not aligned with the Express Entry.
