The break-down of invitations issued is as follows:
Among these, 20 invites went to Express Entry candidates.
Manitoba Expression of Interest
The draw held on February 27 is the 84th Manitoba Expression of Interest draw and this year alone, a total of 1075 invitations have been issued through Manitoba Expression of Interest draws so far. To be considered for provincial nomination, candidates belonging to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories of MPNP must first submit an Expression of Interest. Based on various factors such as education, work experience, previous connections to Manitoba and language proficiency, each of the EoI profiles is assessed and awarded a score out of 1000. The highest-scoring candidates receive invitations to apply for provincial nomination in the Manitoba EoI draws. The minimum score of Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream candidates invited in the latest draw was 499 and that of Skilled Workers Overseas stream candidates was 707.
Manitoba Expression of Interest Express Entry
To be considered for provincial nomination from Manitoba, the federal Express Entry candidates need to submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP. The candidates who are nominated by Manitoba will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System score points added to their total CRS score, which guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC). To be eligible to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba, the Express Entry candidates must demonstrate eligible work experience in an in-demand occupation of Manitoba and meet other requirements.
Skilled Workers Overseas, Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education
To be eligible to apply for provincial nomination through the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, the candidates must have a previous connection to Manitoba in the form of close family or friends residing in the province, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation received through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives and meet other requirements. It is not mandatory for the candidate to be in Manitoba at the time of application. The 24 candidates who received invitations through the Skilled Workers Overseas stream in the latest draw received invitations directly from the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, the candidate must be working in Manitoba and have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer in order to be eligible.
