Of the total number of invitations issued, 50 were issued to candidates belonging to Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) category and the remaining 50 were issued to candidates under the category– Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored. minimum score required for Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) candidates was 95 and the latest date of effect was 25/03/2020. The minimum score shows an increase by 5 points compared to the previous round held last month.
The minimum score required for candidates to be invited under the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored category was also 95. It shows an increase by 10 points compared to the previous round. The latest date of effect was 10/04/2020.
To be invited in an Australia SkillSelect round, you need to submit an Expression of Interest. The Expression of Interest will expire after two years, if the candidate does not receive any invitation.
Pro-rata occupations
The occupations that are in high demand are issued invitations on a pro-rata basis. In this arrangement, places are first allocated to Expressions of Interest under 189 visa category and the remaining places go to Expressions of Interest under 491 Family Sponsored visa category.

Among these, Software and Application Programmers received the highest number of invites at 18. The second highest number of invitations was issued to Civil Engineering Professionals on 9 and Accountants received a total of 8 invitations. Life scientists received 5 invitations.
