In the Labour Market Priorities Stream draw held on December 1, Nova Scotia invited Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Labour Market Priorities stream draw targets candidates with a job offer
In the Labour Market Priorities stream draw held on December 1, the Nova Scotia Nominee Program targeted Express Entry candidates with a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer. The job offer had to be for a full-time skilled work in Nova Scotia and should be for a period of at least one year. By full time, it means year-round employment with at least 30 hours of work per week.
Besides, the invited candidates had skilled, job-related work experience of at least one year and education qualification equal to Canadian secondary school diploma. The invited candidates also had language proficiency equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 5 or higher in English or French.
Those who have received an invitation in the latest draw may apply for a provincial nomination within 30 calendar days. Along with the application, the candidates must submit a copy of language tests, proof of education and job offer.
To receive a provincial nomination through the Labour Market Priorities Stream of Nova Scotia, the candidates must first have an Express Entry profile. Those who are nominated by Nova Scotia will have 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total score. It guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
The Provincial Nominee Program is a viable immigration pathway for candidates who wish to settle in Canada, especially those who have lesser chance of receiving an invitation to apply for Canada PR through the federal Express Entry draws.
