The Canadian province of Manitoba invited 1140 Express Entry candidates in the draw held on July 27. This is the highest number of invitations issued in any single Manitoba draw ever. The Expression of Interest cut-off score in the draw was 557. The candidates were invited through the Skilled Workers Overseas category under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP). The draw broke the previous record of June 28 Manitoba draw, in which 1017 Express Entry candidates were invited.
If the invited candidates successfully apply for and obtain a provincial nomination, they will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System score points added to their total score. This would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas stream
The candidates who live outside Manitoba but demonstrate a strong connection to the province may apply for a provincial nomination under this category. The candidates under this category are assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, language proficiency, work experience and education. To be eligible under this category, the candidates need to obtain 60 out 100 points on the points assessment grid of the MPNP. They must also demonstrate a previous connection to the province in the form of close family members or friends residing in here, previous study/work experience or an invitation to apply for provincial nomination received from the MPNP.
Canada Express Entry
Canada Express Entry manages applications for immigration under the three federal economic immigration programs, which are the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program. The candidates who wish to migrate to Canada through Express Entry must first create an Express Entry profile. They will then be assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience etc. Based on this, each will be awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System score out of 1200. Those who have received a provincial nomination will have 600 additional CRS score points added to their total CRS score. This would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
