Nova Scotia is set to boost immigration opportunities for foreign nationals in healthcare professions. The province announced that paramedics and pharmacy technicians will now be eligible to immigrate through the International Graduates in Demand (IGD) stream of the Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
“Access to this immigration stream helps people who have grown to love our province while completing their training stay here and provide care for Nova Scotians who need it,” said Health and Wellness Minister Michelle Thompson.
The IGD stream is designed to attract and retain international graduates in high-demand occupations. To be eligible, candidates must have a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in an eligible occupation. They must also be between the ages of 21 and 55 and have a valid passport and legal status in their country of residence.

The expansion of the IGD stream to include paramedics and pharmacy technicians is a response to the growing demand for healthcare workers in Nova Scotia.

3. And now, Paramedics (NOC 2021, “Paramedical Occupations”: 32102) and Pharmacy Technicians (NOC 2021: 32124)
