IRCC issues 752 ITAs in latest Express Entry PNP draw with a minimum CRS score of 772

Canada’s latest Express Entry Draw 448 for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) just posted its biggest single-round total since June, and the numbers behind it reveal something more interesting than the headline figure. On October 13, 2026, IRCC issued 752 Invitations to Apply (ITAs), and in doing so came remarkably close to running the pool dry.

Express Entry Draw 448 Highlights

  • Date and time: October 13, 2026, at 10:25:58 UTC
  • Category: Provincial Nominee Program
  • CRS cut-off: 772
  • Invitations issued: 752
  • Rank needed: 752 or above
  • Tie-breaking rule: Candidates who submitted their Express Entry profile before 13:57:33 UTC on July 15, 2026, were prioritised where scores were tied

The Math That Makes This Express Entry Draw 448 Unusual

As of October 12, there were only 749 candidates in the Express Entry pool with CRS scores above 600. IRCC issued 752 invitations the next day. That’s not a coincidence, it’s a near-total clearance of the eligible pool in a single draw. Very few Express Entry rounds in 2026 have landed this close to exhausting their candidate pool entirely, and it explains both the size of this round and why the cut-off climbed to 772, its highest point since May.

A Year Running Well Ahead of 2025’s Pace

Zoom out, and the bigger story is the trajectory. This round brings 2026’s cumulative PNP total to 10,022 invitations across 20 draws, roughly 24% higher than the 7,583 PNP invitations issued by the same point in 2025. That’s not a marginal increase. It reflects a deliberate scaling up of provincial nomination as a selection channel, consistent with how IRCC has leaned on category-based and program-specific draws throughout the year rather than relying primarily on general pool rounds.

Why Draining the Pool Isn’t Necessarily a Warning Sign

A near-empty pool at the 600+ CRS tier might read as a supply problem, but PNP pools replenish differently than general ones. New nominations flow in continuously as provinces issue them throughout the year, meaning a cleared pool today doesn’t signal a slowdown tomorrow, it simply reflects timing. The real signal here is appetite: IRCC chose to invite essentially everyone available rather than holding back for a future round, suggesting confidence that the pool will refill at a similar pace.

What a 772 Cut-Off Says About Candidate Composition

With the nomination’s flat 600-point boost factored out, invited candidates carried a core CRS score averaging around 172 points, on the higher end of what PNP rounds have required this year. That’s worth noting against the backdrop of a cut-off that ranged from 697 in August to 805 in May, a reminder that this category’s threshold has never settled into a predictable band the way CEC’s has.

Where This Leaves the Rest of 2026

With 10,022 PNP invitations already issued and the category tracking well ahead of last year’s pace, the final quarter of 2026 looks set to push that total higher still. For a program that adds a flat 600-point advantage to any nominated candidate, this kind of volume growth matters well beyond the headline CRS numbers, it signals a widening door for anyone who secures a provincial nomination, regardless of how competitive their underlying profile might otherwise be.
