In the Australia SkillSelect round held in March 2020, a total of 2050 candidates received invitations to submit visa application. Compared to the previous draw held in February 2020, the latest draw saw an increase in the number of invitations by 550.
Of the total number of invitations issued in the latest SkillSelect round, 1750 went to those who had submitted Expressions of Interest(EoIs) for Subclass 189 visa. The minimum score required for candidates to be invited under this category was 90. The remaining 300 invitations went to those who had submitted EoIs for Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional (Family Sponsored). Their minimum required score was 85.
Pro-rata occupations
Because of high demand, invitations were issued to certain occupations on a pro-rata basis. The places were first allocated to Subclass 189 visa candidates and the remaining invitations are issued to Subclass 491 visa candidates.

The highest number of invitations was issued to Software and Application Programmers, 464 in total. It means close to 22 percent of the total occupation ceiling quota for Software and Application Programmers has now been met. Accountants received 155 invitations in this round. ICT Business and Systems Analysts received 146 invitations, while Computer Netwo Mechanical and Production Engineers rk Professionals received 144 invitations. Ninety invitations were issued Industrial, Mechanical and Production Engineers and 88 invitations were issued to Auditors, Company Secretaries and Corporate Treasurers. Other Engineering Professionals received 57 invitations and Telecommunications Engineering Professionals received 44 invitations.
