To be able to practice as a Nurse or Midwife in Malta, registration under the Maltese Nursing & Midwifery Council is mandatory. The Malta nursing bridging program will fill the knowledge gap and instill the necessary work culture for aspiring Nurses or Midwives to successfully practice in Malta.

The Malta nursing bridging program for experienced nurses is designed so as to extend their knowledge base in the skills and areas that were not covered in the native study or in their previous workplace.

Scope of Graduate Certificate Program in Nursing

This Graduate Certificate program is a nursing bridging program in Malta that extends for 6 months. This program bridges the gap and feeds some knowledge based on the European norms to practice nursing. Students get a wide knowledge in social care settings and health science. They learn to make decision-making in critical conditions and also acquire the ability to handle pressure.

They get introduced to data collection, extraction and analysis methods, tools and systems. They learn business excellence and sustainable growth. The course provides the ideology to carry out health care tasks, component usage and workplace behaviour by supervision of authorities and bring out the setting up of work placements.

  • Candidates can apply for mandatory registration with the Maltese Nursing & Midwifery Council after completion of the Malta nursing bridging program. You can be directly recruited by hospitals in Malta after the completion of the program. 
  • You can bring in your family after 3 months of completion in Malta.  
  • You can apply for a permanent residence visa in Malta after gaining a minimum of 5 years of work experience in Malta.
  • You may also be eligible to apply for an EU Blue Card. An EU Blue Card allows citizens of non-EU member states to work in EU member states (excluding Denmark, Ireland, and the UK)

Career Opportunities After Malta Nursing Bridging Program

The applicants (nurses) who successfully complete this course can register as a nurse in the Malta Council of Nurses and Midwives. After qualifying, they can practice as a registered nurse in Europe.
