Prince Edward Island Express Entry stream
Under the Prince Edward Island Express Entry stream, the province issues Notification of Interest to Express Entry candidates who have the skills that are in demand in the province. The in-demand skills vary according to the needs of the labour market. Those Express Entry candidates who are nominated by Prince Edward Island will get 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
Critical Workers Stream
The Critical Worker Stream of PEI PNP is an employer-driven stream that allows PEI employers to hire foreign workers if they are unable to fill a vacancy with local talent. Only those who are currently working in PEI are able to apply under this stream. Though an Express Entry profile is not required to apply under the Critical Workers Stream, the candidate must have work experience in Prince Edward Island as well as a job offer in an occupation classified under NOC C or D of the National Occupation Classification.
Skilled Worker in Prince Edward Island Stream
Those who are currently employed by a Prince Edward Island employer may apply for a provincial nomination under Skilled Worker in Prince Edward Island Stream. This employer-driven stream allows PEI employers to hire high-skilled foreign workers if they are unable to find eligible candidates from the local job market to fill the vacancy.
To apply under this stream, the candidates must have previous work experience in the province, as well as a job offer from a PEI employer in an occupation classified under NOC O,A or B of the National Occupation Classification.
Skilled Workers Outside Canada Stream
The Skilled Worker Outside Canada Stream also requires the candidate to have a job offer from a PEI employer. This employer-driven stream allows employers to hire high-skilled foreign workers in the absence of local workers to fill a particular vacancy. The Stream requires the candidates to have a job offer for an occupation classified under NOC o, A or B. However, a previous connection the province is not required.
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot allows skilled and semi-skilled workers to move permanently to one of the four Atlantic provinces of Canada, and Prince Edward Island is one among them.
There are three programs under Atlantic Immigration Pilot:
Atlantic International Graduate Program: This program targets international students who graduated from one of the recognized Prince Edward Island institutes.
Atlantic High Skilled Program: Skilled professionals with at least one year experience and an accredited foreign degree or diploma may apply under Atlantic High Skilled Program.
Atlantic Intermediate Skilled Program: This program targets semi-skilled workers with work experience of at least one year and education qualification equal to a Canadian high school diploma. The candidate must also have undergone industry-specific training.
International Graduate Stream
Those candidates who have graduated from a publicly funded post-secondary institution in PEI may apply for a provincial nomination under the International Graduate Stream. This employer-driven stream allows employers in Prince Edward Island to hire foreign workers to fill the vacancies which cannot be filled through the local job market.
Prince Edward Island Ranking System
Those who wish to immigrate to Prince Edward Island must first submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to the PEI PNP. Each profile is then assessed and awarded a score based on the information provided in this EoI. The candidates with the highest scores will be invited to apply for provincial nomination in the draws that are conducted regularly.
