The latest Prince Edward Island PNP draw held on October 17 saw 158 candidates receiving invitations to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to the Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact categories of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). Out of the total number of candidates invited, 146 belonged to the Express Entry and Labour Impact categories of PEI PNP.
Prince Edward Island PNP Express Entry
The Express Entry category of Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is linked to the federal Express Entry system that manages the three federal economic immigration programs of Canada, which are: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class. The Express Entry candidates nominated by Prince Edward Island would receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
In order to be considered for provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island, the candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to Prince Edward Island PNP. Based on the information provided in the EoI profile, each candidate is awarded a score based on the unique points grid of the Prince Edward Island PNP and the highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply in the draws which are conducted on a monthly basis.
However, in the case of October 17 Prince Edward Island PNP draw, the breakdown of how many Express Entry candidates were invited in the draw or the minimum EoI score of the candidates selected has not been revealed.
PEI PNP Labour Impact category
The PEI PNP Labour Impact category is for those foreign workers who already have a job offer from the province and support of a PEI employer. The Labour Impact category has three streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker and International Graduate. In Labour Impact category also, the candidate needs to submit an Expression of Interest in order to be considered for provincial nomination.
With the latest draw, the total number of invitations to apply issued through the Express Entry and Labour Impact categories of PEI PNP so far in 2019 has touched 1177.
PEI PNP Business Impact: Work Permit Stream
In the October 17 draw, 12 invitations were issued to candidates who had submitted Expressions of Interest under the Business Impact: Work Permit stream of PEI PNP. The minimum EoI score of invited candidates was 122.
The Work Permit stream of PEI PNP is meant for candidates who are interested in owning an operating a business in the province. So far this year, PEI PNP has issued a total of 168 invitations to foreign entrepreneurs through the Business Impact Work Permit stream.
