In the latest all-program Express Entry draw held on October 12, 2022, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 4250 candidates to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required was 500.
As it was an all-program draw, candidates from all the three federal economic immigration programs, which are the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) received invitations. This is the eighth all-program draw being held after the all-program draws resumed on July 6.
During the pandemic period, the IRCC had paused all-program draws owing to the public and health restrictions imposed, starting from December 2020. During the 18 months when all-program Express Entry draws were not held, IRCC invited only Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. Between September 2021 and July 2022 only PNP candidates were invited in the Express Entry draws.
CRS score requirement decreasing
Ever since the all-program draws were resumed, the CRS scores have been coming down gradually and the number of invitations has been increasing. In the first all-program draw held on July 6, the CRS cut-off score was 557. Of the five following draws, the cut-off score kept coming down by eight or nine points. In the latest two draws, the decrease was by six points.
Canada is planning to welcome 55900 new permanent residents through Express Entry in the year 2022. Between January and August 31, Canada has admitted 28000 new permanent residents through Express Entry.
