In the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) draw held on January 5, a total of 250 Express Entry candidates received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the invited candidates was 327. The candidates were invited through the Express Entry stream of the AINP. If they successfully apply for and obtain provincial nomination, they will get 600 additional CRS score points, which will put them in a better place to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Alberta Express Entry stream
Alberta Express Entry stream allows Express Entry candidates who have work experience in one of the eligible occupations of the province to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Usually Alberta invites candidates who have a basic CRS score of around 300. The selected candidates will receive a Notification of Interest from AINP. The selection is based on a number of factors including work experience and education. Those who have Canadian education or close family members living in Alberta stand a better chance to obtain an invitation.
Canada Express Entry system
Canada Express Entry system is an online immigration system that manages applications for immigration under the three federal economic immigration programs of Canada, which are the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program. If you want to migrate to Canada through Express Entry, you must first create an Express Entry profile. Then you will be assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience etc. and awarded a CRS score out of 1200. Most of the provinces in Canada have at least one immigration pathway aligned to the Express Entry. Those who have a provincial nomination will receive 600 additional CRS score points. They will be invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
