In the latest Manitoba PNP draw held on February 9, the province invited 308 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Among the invited, 221 candidates belonged to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream and their minimum score was 720 points. International Education Stream candidates received 55 invitations and the remaining 32 invitations were issued to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative and the minimum score was 709. Among the total of 308 invitations issued, 33 were Express Entry candidates who had valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream aims to meet the specific requirements of the employers in the province. It allows the province to select foreign-trained workers with skills that are in demand and nominate them for permanent residence in Canada. Under the stream, priority is given to those who have a strong attachment to Manitoba. Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream has two pathways- Manitoba Work Experience Pathway and Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway. Foreign workers and international graduates who are in Manitoba on a temporary work permit can apply for provincial nomination under this pathway. Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway is for those applicants from overseas who already have job offers from approved Manitoba employers.
Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
Skilled Worker Overseas Stream is for those candidates who have ths skills and training in the in In-demand Occupations of Manitoba. It has a dedicated Express Entry Pathway and a direct provincial pathway. The Manitoba Express Entry pathway is for international candidates eligible under another MPNP stream, but also meet the Express Entry criteria and have an active Express Entry profile. The direct provincial pathway, which is called the Human Capital Pathway, targets candidates with skills, training and experience in one of the In-demand occupations of Manitoba. They must also demonstrate the potential to find employment soon, once they arrive in Manitoba.
International Education Stream
The International Education Stream targets international students who have graduated from one of the higher education institutions of Manitoba. Now it is not mandatory for the candidates under this category to have six months of work experience before applying for a provincial nomination under this stream.
