Newfoundland and Labrador has published the list of employers designated under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. The provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador has also advised foreign nationals including international students to contact these employers to utilize the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP).Currently, Newfoundland and Labrador is the only province taking part in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program that has made the list of designated employers public.
The list contains a total of 172 employers. They span across a wide range of business sectors ranging from restaurants to aerospace companies. According to a report by the government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the province will have thousands of job opportunities in 2025, as the population here is on decline.

 Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP):

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, a three-year fast-track immigration program, was introduced in 2017. It aims to help employers in Canada’s four Atlantic provinces — Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island — to hire foreign workers. Besides recruiting foreign talents, the program also aims to support population growth, develop a skilled workforce, and increase employment rates in these provinces.
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program has five priority areas:
-Skilled workforce and immigration
-Innovation
-clean growth and climate change
-Trade and investment
-Infrastructure
In order to be eligible to immigrate to Canada under this program, the candidate must have a job offer from a designated employer and an individualized settlement plan for themselves and their family. The target for AIPP in 2018 was to admit 1000 immigrants. But in response to the growing popularity of the program, the federal government raised the target to 2500 in July. The target for 2019 is 2000 and for 2020, the target is 4000.
