In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on June 7, the province invited 142 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Among the invited, 95 were Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates with a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 375. A total of 25 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates with a minimum EOI score of 703 also received invitations in the draw. The remaining 22 invitations were issued to International Education Stream candidates and they had no EOI score requirement. The number of Express Entry candidates who received invitations in the draw was 13.
Manitoba Skilled immigration
Manitoba invites skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination mainly through three streams: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas stream. In order to receive an invitation, the immigration candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
The previous MPNP draw exclusively targeted Express Entry candidates and the number of invitations issued was 404. In the preceding draw held on May 25, the number of candidates who received invitations from Manitoba was 232.
Settle in Manitoba
A number of options are there to receive invitation to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba. But at first, the candidate has to submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. These candidates have a chance to receive invitation through either Skilled Workers in Manitoba or Skilled Workers Overseas stream.
Each candidate in the Expression of Interest pool is then assessed on the basis of various human capital factors and awarded a score out of 1000. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply for provincial nomination.
To receive an invitation under Skilled Workers Overseas stream, the candidates must demonstrate previous connections to Manitoba in the form of close family ties, previous study or work experience in the province or an invitation issue through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. However, it is not mandatory for the candidate to be living in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application. Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream is for those who have received a job offer from Manitoba.
To be eligible under the International Education stream, the candidate must have completed a post-secondary course in one of the higher education institutions in Manitoba and demonstrate skills that are in demand in the province.
