In the Manitoba PNP draw held on December 30, the province invited 188 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Invitations were issued under the following categories:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba
- International Education Stream
- Skilled Workers Overseas
The number of Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates who received invitations in the draw was 157 and they had a minimum score of 461. At the same time, 13 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who received invitations had a minimum score of 718. The number of International Education Stream candidates who received invitations in the draw was 18. Among the invited, 13 are Express Entry candidates. All the invited Skilled Worker Overseas candidates were those who have received direct invitations under a strategic recruitment drive.
MPNP has informed that those who are working in regulated occupations have been invited in the draw. But their application for a provincial nomination may be refused if they are not actually working in a regulated occupation and cannot provide a proof for having completed all the licensing steps for employment in Manitoba. Such candidates have an option to decline the invitation.
Manitoba PNP EoI system
Those candidates who wish to receive an invitation from MPNP through either the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams must register an Expression of Interest with the MPNP. Each of these candidates will be assessed and awarded a score out of 1000 based on various human capital factors such as language proficiency, education, work experience, previous connections to the province etc.
Manitoba PNP immigration streams
The Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams of MPNP allow the province to nominate skilled workers who can support the labour market needs of the province. Those who are applying from overseas must have a previous connection to the province in the form of family members or friends residing in the province, previous experience in Manitoba or an invitation received under one of the strategic Recruitment Initiatives of MPNP. However, Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates must have a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer. International Education Stream targets international students graduated from the educational institutions of Manitoba who have skills that are in demand in the province.
Express Entry Manitoba
In order to receive a provincial nomination from Manitoba, Express Entry candidates must submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. The candidates are ranked on the basis of their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores and the highest scoring candidates receive Invitations to Apply for provincial nomination. Those who are nominated by Manitoba receive an additional 600 CRS score points that guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
