The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 299 invitations in the latest draw held on April 25.The invitations were issued to candidates belonging to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education and Skilled Workers Overseas streams of MPNP.
Breakdown of invitations issued by MPNP
A breakdown of invitations issued is as follows:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 208
- International Education Stream: 25
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 66
All the invited candidates of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream were invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. These initiatives include overseas recruitment missions led by the MPNP, often in association with employers in Manitoba.
MPNP Expression of Interest
The first step for a candidate to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba is to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to the MPNP. In the EoI, they shall provide all the required information such as their education qualification, work experience, language proficiency and the candidate’s previous connection to the province. Each EoI profile is awarded a score and the highest-scoring candidates are issued Letters of Advice to Apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba in the draws that are conducted regularly.
The lowest score drawn in the April 25 draw for Skilled Workers in Manitoba was 510, while the lowest score for Skilled Workers Overseas candidates was 632.
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream is meant for eligible temporary foreign workers. At the same time, the International Education Stream is for international student graduates currently working in Manitoba and has a permanent job offer from their Manitoba employer. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates selected in the April 25 draw were working in a regulated occupation and were fully licensed to work in Manitoba.
With the April 25 draw, the total number of invitations issued by the MPNP through the three streams so far this year has reached 3901.
