In the draw held on February 12, Manitoba invited 296 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. This is the third draw of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP) to be held in 2021.The candidates were invited under the following three streams of MPNP, which are:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba
- Skilled Workers Overseas
- International Education Stream
While 240 Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates with a minimum score of 514 received invitations, 23 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates with a minimum score of 676 also received invitations. The candidates under the International Education Stream received 33 invitations. No EoI score requirement was specified for this category.
MPNP Express Entry category
Among those invited, 20 were Express Entry candidates. The Express Entry candidates who receive provincial nomination from Manitoba will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total score. That guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada. In the last Provincial Nominee Program-specific Express Entry draw held on February 10, a total of 654 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 720 received invitations. That means the basic CRS score of these candidates was just 120.
MPNP Skilled Worker Immigration
In order to receive a provincial nomination under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas Streams, the candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. Each Expression of Interest profile submitted in this manner is awarded a score out of 1000 based on various human capital factors and previous connections to Manitoba.
The Skilled Workers Overseas category and the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category aims to attract candidates who have the skills to meet the labour market requirements of the province. To receive an invitation under the Skilled Workers Overseas category, the candidates must demonstrate previous connections to the province in the form of close family members residing in the province, previous study or work experience in Manitoba or invitations received through one the Strategic recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. To receive a nomination under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, the candidates must have received full-time permanent job offer from a provincial employer.
International graduates who complete education in Manitoba can receive invitations under the International Education Stream if they demonstrate that they have in-demand skills.
