Nova Scotia Invites Early Childhood Educators to Apply for PNP

Canada PR applications

The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream, on August 8, issued its first invitations to 314 Express Entry candidates with work experience as early childhood educators and assistants. The invitations were sent to candidates with minimum two years of work experience in National Occupational Classification (NOC) 4214.
The main duty of early childhood educators is to plan, organize and implement programs for children between the ages of infancy and 12 years, according to NOC 4214. Early childhood educator assistants provide care for infants and preschool- to school-age children under the guidance of early childhood educators.

The candidates who have received a Letter of Interest can apply for provincial nomination from Nova Scotia within 30 days. The 30-day deadline once again underlines the need for immigration applicants to collect all documents well in advance in order to avoid any hassles in the official process for immigration. The candidates will have to submit letters of reference from employers, besides other documents.
The candidates who successfully apply for and receive provincial nomination from Nova Scotia will be awarded 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. This increases their chances to be invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draws.

Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream

Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream, the launching of which was announced on August 2, was introduced with an aim to invite candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination. The stream primarily targets candidates who can meet the “market-identified labour shortages” of Nova Scotia. Though the August 8 draw targeted early childhood educators and assistants, the targeted occupations will change in the upcoming draws according to the labour market needs of Nova Scotia.
