Saskatchewan expands in-demand occupations list to boost immigration

Saskatchewan expands in-demand occupations list

The Government of Saskatchewan has expanded the in-demand occupations list associated with its two popular streams- Express Entry and In-Demand Occupation in order to accommodate more than 200 occupations.
The overhaul of two popular streams within the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has given a much-needed relief to the aspiring immigrants as chances of finding their occupation in the list increases significantly.
Rather than listing the occupations that are now eligible, the SINP is only listing the 129 occupations that are excluded. This leaves more than 200 occupations that may now be eligible.
Experts believe that the addition of many more occupations in the in-demand list has the potential to benefit Saskatchewan’s labour market. It would also benefit the highly skilled overseas candidates who dream of a quality life in Canada. The experts also believe that these SINP streams have long been a great pathway for eligible candidates, albeit with work experience in a very limited number of occupations, to pursue nomination and then permanent residence in Canada.
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has remained one of the most popular Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)among the skilled immigrants to Canada. Coincidentally, the overhaul in aforementioned two streams do not require a job offer in Canada in order for a candidate to be eligible. However, both these streams require sufficient work experience in a relevant high-skilled occupation elsewhere.
Usually, the accepted skill level for successful nomination under the SINP is skill level 0 (managerial), A (professional) or B (technician) under Canada National Occupation Classification (NOC)

The provincial nomination under Express Entry stream adds an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, thereby guaranteeing  an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence (PR) in Canada. While a provincial nomination under the In-Demand Occupation stream is certain, it is generally slower.
The candidates interested in both the immigration streams must register a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) with the SINP.
Canada immigration through PNP is the best alternative to federal Express Entry programs. PNP offers great opportunities for non-Express Entry candidates as well as Express Entry candidates with low CRS for permanent immigration to Canada.
