The province of Saskatchewan, on January 10th, opened the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)’s International Skilled Worker subcategory of Express Entry to accept 400 new applications. The intake limit was reached soon and the sub-category was closed on the next day, on January 11th itself. In the year 2017, Saskatchewan opened this subcategory five times, accepting a total of 3200 applications.
The International Skilled Worker- Express Entry sub-category of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) does not require a job offer. Through this sub-category, SINP nominates persons with expected qualifications from the Express Entry pool of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Permanent Residence. The nominated persons will receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for SINP’s International Skilled Worker –Express Entry sub-category include:
- If the candidate is staying in Canada, he/she must prove that he/she is staying in the country legally
- The candidate must have entered his/her profile in the Express Entry and have a Job Seeker Validation Code
- The candidate must have scored at least 60 points out of 100 on the SINP point assessment grid.
- Must have the required language proficiency level
- The candidate must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education or training and hold a degree, diploma, or certificate;
- Have enough work experience related to their field of education or training in a highly skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) in one of Saskatchewan’s 35 in-demand occupations
- Have enough settlement funds
