Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited 595 candidates in the Expression of Interest draw held on December 20. The invited candidates belonged to the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories of SINP. To be considered for selection in the SINP Expression of Interest draw, the candidates needed to have filed an Expression of Interest (EoI) . Though a job offer is not a must, the candidates are supposed to have at least one year of work experience in an eligible occupation related to their field of study.
Each Expression of Interest (EoI) profile submitted to the SINP is awarded a score out of 100 based on the Points Assessment Grid of SINP for International Skilled Workers. The score is awarded on the basis of a number of eligibility factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, previous connections to the province etc. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan in the draws that are conducted regularly.
SINP Express Entry sub-category
Of the total 595 invites issued in the latest draw, 304 went to Express Entry candidates. To be considered for provincial nomination from Saskatchewan, the Express Entry candidates need to submit an EoI to the SINP and score at least 69 on the Points Assessment Grid. The candidates who receive provincial nomination will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. That guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
SINP Occupations In-demand sub-category
Those who do not have a federal Express Entry profile may apply for a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan through the Occupations In-demand sub-category. In the latest draw, 291 Occupations In-demand candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination and the minimum required score was 69.
Ever since September 25, 2019, when Saskatchewan overhauled its Occupations In-demand list, SINP has issued a total of 6284 invitations. The December 20 draw saw candidates in 96 occupations including supervisors, paralegals, sales managers and finance and insurance office workers receiving invitations.
