sinp

In the Provincial Nominee Program draw held on May 25, Saskatchewan invited 269 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.  The invitations were issued to candidates belonging to the Occupations In-Demand sub-category under the International Skilled Worker category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

To receive an invitation, the candidates needed to have an Expression of Interest (EoI) score of at least 65. This is five points lower compared to the minimum EoI score in the previous draw. The candidates also needed to have their Educational Credential Assessments done in order to prove that their educational qualifications were comparable to the Canadian standards. They were also required to have work experience in one of the 36 in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan.

In order to receive an invitation under either the Express Entry or the Occupations In-Demand sub-category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), the candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest.

SINP Expression of Interest system

The SINP Expression of Interest system allows the province to select immigration candidates who have the skills that are in demand in the province and nominate them for permanent residence in Canada. The candidates who submit an EoI to the SINP will be assessed on the basis of various eligibility factors such as age, education, work experience, etc. Based on this assessment, each candidate will be awarded an EoI score out of 100. Those with the highest scores will be invited to apply for provincial nomination from Saskatchewan.

SINP Occupations In Demand subcategory

The Occupations In Demand subcategory of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program aims to invite those candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile, to apply for provincial nomination. Highly skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan, who do not have a job offer from the province may apply under this category.

SINP Express Entry sub-category

The Express Entry sub-category of the SINP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from Canada will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. It guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
