In the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) draw held on August 27, a total of 570 candidates received Invitations to Apply for provincial nomination. The candidates invited in the draw belonged to the Occupations In Demand subcategory of the International Skilled Worker category.
The SINP draw prioritized those candidates with work experience in one of the 50 eligible occupations that include financial managers, human resource professionals, occupational therapists etc. The invited candidates also had Educational Credential assessments. Further, the candidates were required to score at least 68 Expression of Interest(EoI) score points if they had previous connection to the province or 10 years work experience or minimum official language proficiency equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 8. Otherwise they were required to have 69 points.
SINP Occupations In-Demand subcategory
The candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile many apply for provincial nomination under the Occupations In-demand subcategory of SINP. It targets high-skilled workers with worker experience in one of the in-demand occupations of the province. However, they do not require a job offer to be eligible.
How to apply under SINP
In order to apply under this subcategory, the candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest to the SINP. Each EoI profile submitted in this manner is assessed on the basis of various eligibility factors such as age, education, language proficiency etc. The candidates with the highest score receive invitation to apply for provincial nomination from SINP.
Saskatchewan has invited a total of 3256 candidates apply for provincial nomination so far this year under the Occupations In-demand subcategory as well as Express Entry sub-category. The Express Entry sub-category of SINP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. This sub-category also operates on an EoI basis. The Express Entry candidates, if successfully apply for and obtain SINP nomination, will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. It guarantees them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
