Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador Stream
The Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador Stream under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) targets highly educated and highly skilled foreign workers with experience in one of the occupations that are in demand in the province. The stream aims to address the labour shortages in the region. It requires the applicants to have at least one year of work experience in one of its in-demand occupations. Those who have completed a Masters or Doctorate degree course at Memorial University in the past three years are also eligible to apply under this Stream.
In order to receive an invitation under the Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador Stream, a candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest. Though a job offer is not necessary, the candidates need to have high EOI scores to receive an invitation. The selected candidates are issued an invitation to apply for provincial nomination, provided they meet all the eligibility criteria for either the skilled worker or Express Entry Skilled Worker category. If the candidates obtain a nomination, it will support their subsequent application for permanent residence in Canada.
The applicants need to fill out a questionnaire for getting their EOI score. Those who earn more than 60 points will be visible to local employers with accounts in the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism.
